Ski Island Lake Club

History

Ski Island Lake Club is a residential community in Oklahoma City, developed in the 1960s around a private lake. The neighborhood features 137 homes with waterfront properties. Residents enjoy a variety of water activities including skiing, tubing, kayaking, fishing, and night cruises to watch the beautiful sunset. Over the decades, Ski Island has maintained it's appeal as a desirable residential area due to its tranquil environment and convenient access to urban amenities. The community is known for its well-kept homes, Christmas lights, and other neighborhood events. 


FACTS 


  • There are 16 lakes in the Ski Island stream, Ski Island is the largest
  • The dam is more than 1,200 feet long with 199 feet of weir boards held in place by steel pins
  • Ski Island is tested for lead, mercury and e-coli bacteria and is cleaner than Lake Hefner, the drinking water source
  • The lake has catfish, Florida bass, white and black crappie, channel cat, black bass and several varieties of brim, carp, and gar
